February/March Events in Florida for Families

February is here- and every corner of Florida seems to be holding one event or another. Here's a run down of what family friendly events are taking place around our sunshine state.

Florida Renaissance Festival

Earlier in the Month saw the end to the Hoggetowne Medieval Fair in Gainesville (Feb 3rd end date), but on February 9th the Knights of King Arthur's Court roll into Deerfield Beach for the Florida Renaissance Festival. Catch a jousting tournament, or join in

February 9th to March 24th (weekends only) Adults: $25; Children (6-11) $11

Florida Strawberry Festival

Plant City's famous Strawberry Festival kicks off on February 28th, with 11 days of live entertainment, youth livestock shows, carnival rides & games, and of course...strawberries! The Florida Strawberry Festival is the place to catch big name acts like Willie Nelson, Martina McBride, Alabama & the Oak Ridge Boys.  The Florida Strawberry Festival runs from February 28th to March 10th.  Adults: $10; Children 5-12 $5; Under 5 years free with paid adult admission. Live Entertainment extra. See their website for prices & details.

Floral City Strawberry Festival

Though certainly not as big as the Florida Strawberry Festival, the 32nd Annual Floral City Strawberry Festival has a small-town vibe with  plenty of kid-centric activities like bounce houses, face painting, and arts. Plant sales, arts & craft vendors and food- lots of food.. With local live entertainment, good food and, of course- strawberries. Try some strawberry shortcake or take home a flat of local grown strawberries from Ferris Groves. The Floral City Strawberry Festival takes place on March 2nd & 3rd (one weekend only). Adults: $5; Children 12 and under free.
